Hurricane Dean Photos

Hello Everybody! We just want to thank all those who have been praying for us this past week. “Operation Belize Mercy” team including our DTS team, headed out Tuesday morning after Hurricane Dean, a category 5, hit northern Belize. They were first on the scene jumping right in moving debris and trees off of the roads so vehicles could pass.

In the north there are mainly farming villages, now 95% of the sugar cane fields are destroyed. For many families that is their only source of income. They will feel these effects for a long time. The main population in this area live in wood or thatch huts. You can only imagine the damage of a category 5 hurricane with wind speed of 150mph.

Many other families have houses that were completely destroyed, roofs torn off, walls caved in, etc. OBM has rebuilt many roofs, including one for a blind woman and a single mother of 7.

Our DTS team will remain up north until this Saturday working with Operation Belize Mercy. Please pray for them as they are being the hands and feet of Jesus to many.

We ask that you consider making a financial donation to help rebuild the lives of these Belizeans. We would like to buy more building supplies and food.

Donations can be sent to:

What's happening now??

Well, another month has passed and gone, to where....?? I have no idea! This month we have had several things going on.

DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL

July 17th we started the school with 8 students. There are students from the U.S, Canada and Belize. Their first week was orientation week, getting them familiar with what they have to look forward to in the school. Then the second week they were pushed full on into ministry/class with the Legacy Youth Conference that was running. The students are in the process of going deeper in the things of God and finding out what they really believe and applying it to their lives. Everytime John and I help run the school we ourselves receive new revelation. It's awesome!

LEGACY YOUTH CONFERENCE

This year the Legacy leaders were totally blown away with the turn out of youth. What we thought to be a 30 person camp soon turned into 85 by the night of registration! These youth are hungry for people to be real with them. We had a powerful week of teachings by a guest speaker, Larry Allan from YWAM Tyler, Texas; as well as amazing times of worship. Patti was able to be a part of the worship team again, although had to do a bit of running in and out! It was an awesome week with great testimonies of what God did in these young peoples' lives!

Testimonies:
"Last year when I first attended Lagacy Youth Conference, I didn't know what to expect. Honestly, I thought that it was just another youth camp. But my perception of what Legacy was would soon be changed. My first night into the worship session was like something from out of a horror movie. To see teenagers act like that: praising and worshiping God so passionately. I thought to myself while watching them with a really scared look on my face, "...Lunatics!!!" I'm proud to say that by the end of that week in Lagacy, I too was a Lunatic. We were all Jesus Freaks. "

"What a transformation this camp has had on our son. He's in the word daily; I just e-mailed our pastor in the U.S. giving him the great news. Our son is like a sponge; he can't seem to get enough of the word and prior to last week, would sleep through any bible discourse. Not anymore. Kindly convey these sentiments to John George and the rest of the Legacy Team- We've regained our son!!!!"

Please pray for these youth that came and received from God that they will be able to stand firm in their own environments. Thanks.

GEORGE STUFF

We want to thank all of those who have been praying for us these past couple months. It seems Belize has been going through some MAJOR warfare issues from the governement on down. Apparently, witches from Haiti have been invited to Belize to perform.. whatever it is they do, which has explained the increased demonic activity this past month. We believe it's been prayer that has kept assignments from the enemy at bay.

John was in an accident last month while on the way to pick up his family from the airport. He was passing a vehicle when that vehicle proceeded to cut into him and run him off the road. He was fine with only a minor cut on his finger from the glass!! The YWAM van he was driving wasn't so fine... only cosmetics though....As he looked back over the track he had come, it was a miracle how the van passed lamp posts and other obstacles. PRAISE GOD!!

We have heard of several leaders who have had similar incidents across the nation of Belize. There was also a murder of an American teacher at a Christian School and University here in Belize who we knew. We were not that close to him but several of our friends were, a real tragedy.

Please continue to pray for us as we take place in what God has for Belize!!

A HAPPY NOTE:

Evangeline is doing well. She is 4 months now and is so amazing. Her little personality is coming out. She has started rolling over and her new hobby is spitting... kinda cute but really wet!

She's 3 months!

Can you believe Evangeline 3 months already? She's started reaching for things and grabbing my hair and earrings...she squeals and smiles and falls asleep randomly no matter where she is whenever she's just tired herself out.

What's New?

Hi Everybody! We hope you all are enjoying the upcoming summer!! We spend our days wishing the summer away! Last week it was 101F with the feeling of 111F. I felt I was going to melt off the face of the earth. Poor little Evangeline, she just was a sweat ball all day long, as we all were. I let her play in her little bath twice a day, she loves her bath. I have to put towels around the little tub because she gets so excited she makes tidal waves! She is a smiley, happy, beautiful little girl who lights my life everyday. She had her vaccination on Wednesday and had a fever for a couple days, that was so sad to see her not feeling well. I guess that was my first of many times of kissing away tears and holding her until she stopped crying. I just wanted to make everything better for her. Ya that was hard... all you moms.. props out to you!

John and I have been busy. We are preparing for the upcoming DTS in July and it looks like there will be about 9 students, so far...we also have a Legacy Youth Conference coming up in July. ( http://legacybelize.blogspot.com )

So... thanks for all you who pray and encourage us. We are grateful for everyone of you and would LOVE to hear from you! Oh and if you don't have 'Facebook' yet you need to get it, IT ROCKS!!
ok here's the best part! .. for all you Evangeline lovers out there... here she is....

Baby Eva is One Month Old!

Who would have thought you could love someone so much after only knowing them a month? Sometimes I look at her and I can't even figure out first of all how she ever fit inside of me and then wonder at the grace of God. He is so good to us!
I have to say though that in the past 2 days 4 people have asked me if I adopted her... apparently I'm whiter than I think! She will have a permenant tan and I will forever be white. My beautiful girl, Evangeline Zoe Elizabeth.

So Baby Evangeline is one month old now. She had her first shot yesterday and went through with flying colors...although she made the clinic very aware she was NOT happy about the shot AND she could hit high octaves never heard before!

She is a joy!
